New Farm, Brisbane

Kerdic recently finished renovating an old worker’s cottage into a beautiful boutique accommodation in the heart of New Farm. We worked closely with one of Brisbane’s leading Interior Design firms Wrightson Stewart to transform the worker’s cottage.

The objective was to highlight the heritage details of a traditional inner-city worker’s cottage. This was achieved by Wrightson Stewart by the bold choice of colours in the bedrooms, traditional v-j’s and tiling details with contemporary light fixtures, black tap ware and custom built cabinetry. The house has a wonderful structure and has been restored to suit luxury modern day living. The sustainable two-module extension includes a kitchen/dining/living space on the ground floor and a bedroom and bathroom upstairs. Due to the proximity of neighbouring houses we incorporated skylights to ensure the top module has natural daylight. The top module also has an extended deck, so the client can enjoy the beautiful city views available from the property. While each module has a space of just 40sqm, we were able to incorporate ample storage space to avoid clutter throughout

All bedrooms include a mini-bar area concealed behind cabinetry and also includes a built-in storage concept that incorporates a luggage drop off. Every bathroom in the house has custom made tiles that highlight the heritage details. New Farm was completed in 2019.
